WestJet reveals the opening of routes to Tulum from Calgary and Toronto.

The Canadian airline WestJet, based in Calgary, has announced the addition of new flights for the winter of 2024 and 2025 to the Tulum international airport. These flights will depart from the cities of Calgary and Toronto, with a weekly frequency and three times a week, respectively. According to the municipal official, this measure demonstrates the company's commitment to this region of Mexico.

The official highlighted that Tulum continues to consolidate itself as a beach and sun destination in the Caribbean, underscoring the importance of highlighting this characteristic so that travelers from Canada, the United States, Europe and the Middle East identify the area as a Caribbean destination with a rich culture. In addition, he mentioned that Calgary and Toronto are cities with travelers with high purchasing power, accustomed to making numerous seasonal trips due to the climatic conditions of their country.

The municipal official also expressed the need to welcome this new airline, which will operate flights to Tulum with 737 aircraft, and highlighted the importance of preparing to better understand the Canadian travelers who will visit the area.

As previously reported, in mid-2023, US airlines American and Delta, as well as Canadian airlines Air Canada and WestJet, announced plans to increase their offering to Cancun and Cozumel in the upcoming winter season.
